Build your own life.

Companies have run on the balanced scorecard for more than thirty years. MePlans gives a person the same instrument, in the words a person would use, for the whole of a life and not just the part with deadlines.

Where it comes from

In 1992 Robert Kaplan and David Norton described a way for a company to see itself whole: not the money alone, but four views at once, the financial results, the customers, the way the work gets done, and how the organization learns and grows. Each view carries a few measures with targets, the measures are read together, and a map shows how a gain in one view drives a gain in the next. They called it the balanced scorecard. It became the way a great many organizations run.

MePlans keeps all of that and changes the subject. The four views become four scorecards for a person: Healthy Me, Me and People, Money and Me and A Better Me, each yours to rename. The measures become ways to know, with what I do and what I get. The strategy map becomes How it connects. The initiatives under a goal become Me Actions, and in a group, who does what. Every classic term is still there, one switch away, for anyone who wants it.

WePlans is the same instrument for a group. A business that is starting gets the classic four in plain words. A club, a family or a team gets four sides that fit what it is. Members share the goals and keep their own check-ins, and a goal of one person's own can support one of the group's, which is what the original method calls cascading.

What MePlans holds to

  • Simple, not easy

The app makes the work simple: one tap to check in, one screen to read. The work itself is yours, and nothing here pretends otherwise. A plan you do not work is not a plan.

  • Measure, do not guess

A goal that cannot be measured is a wish. Every goal here carries a way to know and a target, and every week ends with a number and a face you did not have to guess at.

  • Balance is the point

Four scorecards, always four. A life that is winning on one and losing on three shows up that way, on one page, in color. That is uncomfortable, and it is the point.

  • Your words, your plan

Everyday words on every screen. Scorecards you name yourself. Goals you wrote, or that MeMind drafted and you approved. Nothing changes in your plan unless you say so.

  • Your journal is yours

Me Notes and your private answers stay on your device. They are never scored, never sent to MeMind, and leave your device only locked with a code you hold.

  • No ads, nothing sold

MePlans is paid for by the people who use it, at one price. There are no ads, no trackers, and nothing about you is sold or shared.

The names

MePlans

One word. Me, because the plan is about one person's whole life and nobody else's template of it. Plans, because there are four of them, and they are yours to build.

WePlans

One word. The same scorecard for two or more of you: a business, a club, a family, a team. Each of you keeps your own MePlans beside it.

Who makes it

MePlans is built and run in California by the people who use it every week themselves.
